Rotary drum for vacuum filters
The rotary drum for vacuum filters serves as the main structure bearing the filtration process. Its outer surface is covered with filter cloth, providing a crucial filtration area for solid – liquid separation. A larger surface area of the rotary drum means a larger filtration area, which can handle more suspension in unit time and improve filtration efficiency. For example, in large – scale industrial production, rotary drums with larger sizes can meet the requirements of continuous and large – flow filtration. In industries such as chemical raw material production and food and beverage processing, they can quickly separate solid particles and liquid in the suspension, ensuring the smooth progress of the production process.
- Drum diameter: 1000mm to 3430mm
- Drum length: 700mm to 5330mm
- We can also accept customized sizes and materials.
Rotary drum Structures

A distribution head that comes with counter flanges for pipe connection is closely positioned next to the trunnion.
The filtrate is discharged into the vacuum line via pipes that connect to the distribution head.
Synthetic grids, which extend across the entire drum, are used to provide support for the filter cloth
The variable-speed drive rotates the drum, which is powered by a motor.
The pipeline access facilitates inspection, cleaning, and component replacement operations.
The pressure strip fastens the filter cloth to the drum, ensures their seal, avoiding filtrate cross-flow.
The fixing methods of the filter cloth on the rotary drum

nylon rope
It offers relatively flexible on-site installation, requiring no complex metal pressure strips or fastener buckles, thus making it well suitable for small, simple filter machines or specific scenarios with strict cost control.

pressure strip
It offers strong fixing stability and high fit between the filter cloth and the rotary drum, making it suitable for working conditions with high vacuum levels and high filtrate viscosity (such as filtration of chemical slurries and mineral slurries).

Steel wire rope
Not only ensures filter cloth-drum fit (reducing liquid leakage risk) but also adapts to the cloth’s temperature-induced thermal expansion and contraction. This prevents cloth tearing from rigid fixation, balancing stability and protection needs.
The motor for rotary drum
The rotary drum motor of the vacuum drum filter, leveraging its advantages of adaptability and reliability, serves as the core power source for ensuring filtration efficiency.
- Flexible and precise speed regulation: It typically adopts frequency conversion control, supporting a wide speed adjustment range of 0.1-5 r/min. It can dynamically adapt according to material viscosity and filter cake thickness, ensuring uniform filter cakes and thorough discharge.
- Strong adaptability to working conditions: It features an ingress protection (IP) rating of IP54 to IP65 and an insulation class of Class F to Class H, enabling it to withstand humid and corrosive environments. Equipped with designs for different power outputs (0.75-7.5kW) and torque levels, it is suitable for small to large rotary drums as well as high-load scenarios.
- Efficient and low-energy operation: The direct-drive permanent magnet synchronous motor has no transmission loss, with an efficiency exceeding 90%, and features low noise and minimal maintenance requirements. Even the traditional induction motor + reducer combination offers advantages of low cost and easy maintenance, which balances efficiency and economy to meet the needs of multiple industries such as chemical engineering, food processing, and pharmaceuticals.
